Yeah I agree with you. Twitter is popular IMO because of the amount of celebrities that are regular users on it.

As for Twitter being owned by CNN, I don't think it is.

No twitter is not owned by CNN, it was made by people like us, just people looking to make a site on the internet, and doing what they can to get it big. They struck lucky IMO, their no different from us.

Their no different from any other social networking network that ISNT big, you can tell their lack of experience because they couldnt even defend a simple DDoS attack from some hackers. Now i believe the ONLY way they got back up and running after that attack was due to the amount of money they had made from that site, and they must have hired someone who was good with security, otherwise they would have been ruined from there on im quite sute.

Follow me on Twitter!

They're so lucky! It's every webmasters dream to make it big, and I guess Twitter is as big as one can get

Part of their success is also because of the freedom they give to webmasters to create Twitter-related sites. Try doing that with facebook, and you'll immediately be getting some trademark infringement e-mail telling you to let the domain expire or they'll take legal action against you (happened to me).

I am following this person. Do I put quotation marks "@username" or do I just send the tweet without quotation marks

Just out of interest, what domain did you register that they complained about crumble?

Has anyone here actually ever got a client/customer or a member to a forum through Twitter, or seen a significant increase in visits after advertising on Twitter? I haven't personally :P
